Each Year
How it works
Every year, Yellowstone Resource Group and Servus Group pick a family in need and completely transform their home and backyard in a single day. The family gets taken out for the day while the full crew arrives at dawn on a Saturday. Landscapers, tradies, volunteers. Everyone works side by side until the space is finished.
The work goes beyond landscaping. New turf, garden beds, fencing, paving, play areas. But also plumbing upgrades, electrical work, general maintenance. Whatever the family needs to make their home safer and more liveable.
Backyard Blitz is part of our Community Connections program. It's a way to give back, make a real impact in a family's life, and shine a light on challenges that don't always get the attention they deserve.
The families we've helped
The Philipps Family
The Backyard Blitz team was proud to support the Philipps family this year and to shine a light on families and individuals living with Autism, ADHD, anxiety, and mental health challenges. We created a dedicated family hang-out area, carried out general maintenance, and upgraded existing plumbing and electrical systems to improve the home's overall safety and functionality.
The Rowlandson Family
Samantha is a mother to five children, aged 7 to 13. Her husband Adam suddenly passed away from lung cancer in September 2023, just one month after being diagnosed. The cancer grew so fast it shocked his doctors. We came together to rebuild a space where Samantha and the kids could start moving forward.
The Taylor Family
The Taylor family were hosted and taken out for the day while volunteers came together on a Saturday to create their new space. Two teams, one mission: to recreate a home for a family in need.
