Project Overview

A large-scale recreation reserve for the City of Melton at Melton South, built from scratch on an open site — earthworks, drainage and services first, then an inclusive play and picnic space for a wide range of ages and abilities.

What the client needed

The City of Melton needed Blackwood Drive Recreation Reserve transformed into an inclusive, multi-age recreation space. The reserve required play equipment for younger and older children, accessible nature play, covered picnic and BBQ facilities, and better path connections across the site.

The site is a large open reserve with minimal existing infrastructure. Everything was built from scratch on what was essentially a blank canvas, requiring significant earthworks, drainage, and services installation before any play equipment or amenities could go in.

What we delivered

We built the full reserve from the ground up, starting with the earthworks, drainage and services the blank site needed. New concrete footpaths connect all zones, the kick-about lawns were regraded and turfed, and bark mulch and rubber softfall were laid throughout the play zones.
