Dowling Road Reserve Upgrade
A full playspace and reserve upgrade for Kingston City Council at Dowling Road Reserve, Oakleigh South — new play equipment, a resurfaced basketball half-court with a new fixed tower, and accessible pathways, delivered with minimal disruption to the surrounding homes.
What the client needed
Kingston City Council needed the playspace and surrounding reserve at Dowling Road upgraded. The existing play equipment was due for replacement, the basketball court needed resurfacing and a new tower, and the reserve lacked accessible pathways and basic amenities.
The reserve is surrounded by residential properties, so noise and access management during construction was important. Existing fencing posts were retained and fitted with new mesh panels rather than replaced, reducing disruption to neighbours.
What we delivered
We removed the old equipment and built the new playspace from the ground up, with rubber softfall throughout the play zones. The existing basketball half-court was resurfaced with new line marking and a fixed basketball tower installed, and new concrete pathways with directional markings now connect through the reserve.
